Will You Be Tuning In To The Royal Wedding?

do you like going to work? Me neither! See how I got around that and got paid too!

On May 19, 2018, Meghan Markle, an American actress and divorcee, will marry Prince Harry, the youngest son of Princess Diana and Prince Charles. Markle's relative lack of blue-blooded "pedigree" and her status as an American, coupled with a longtime media focus on Prince Harry, has made the event one people around the globe anxiously anticipate.

Aside from the more general interest in the figures involved in the royal wedding, why do people care so much, though? After all, royal weddings in the past didn't involve Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and viewers still tuned in – to the ones that have been televised, at least. What is it about the marriage of royals that captivates American viewers, viewers who live in a country that definitely broke with the concept of the British monarchy?

Vote up the reasons that explain why so many Americans will be tuning into the royal wedding this weekend.
