Rockstar Games

Hackers have been spawning the uber-car for weeks now, but Rockstar finally unleashed the beastly Vigilante for the legions of legit GTA: Online players across the world. The superfast car will cost players nearly $4 million, but for their cash, they get a nearly indestructible roadster that looks almost exactly like the classic Batmobile from Tim Burton’s Batman movies.

Warner Bros.

And Rockstar’s really laying the Batman atmosphere on thick in this announcement post. It looks like it could be straight out of an Arkham game:

The release of the Vigilante marks the 4th anniversary of GTA: Online, and to ease the pain of dropping $4 million on a single car, Rockstar is giving away a free $400,000 to anyone who logs in between November 6th and November 13th. That’s nice of them.

After spending some time with the vehicle, I can personally tell you that it feels pretty cool to speed down the streets of Los Santos in the Vigilante. In fact, it’s almost too fast, but punching the rocket propulsion is as satisfying of a boost that you can get in GTA V. In other words, there needs to be some Vigilante-only races in which everyone is growling “I’m Batman™” over their mics.

Rockstar promised that the Vigilante makes an appearance in one of their new Transform Races, but there really should be some strict night races (in the rain) so we can properly play with our wonderful toy.

Anyway, here’s a look at the car in action from earlier in the month:

I always thought things that sounded too good to be true usually aren't told why discovered this!
